Summary BIO
Jim Matthews is currently President and CEO of JEM Innovations LLC, a technical innovation R&D and quality consulting firm specializing in the food and beverage industry and support for mergers and aquasitions. Prior to founding his company, Jim was with Keurig Green Mountain as Global VP of Quality - Product Supply, and responsible for quality, food safety, product compliance and support to new product development. Jim joined Keurig Green Mountain from the H.J. Heinz Company where he served as Senior Vice President - Global R&D/Innovation North America and Emerging Markets until 2013, and previously as Vice President R&D and Quality for North America.
While at Heinz, he championed the creation of the Heinz Innovation Center, a state-of-the-art development and technical facility that provides the tools and talent to innovate in food science, packaging, convenience and nutrition, and led teams that created over 500 successful new products.
Jim has served as director and chairman on various industry boards, including the American Frozen Foods Institute, The Frozen Food Foundation, and the Cornell University Food Science Industry Advisory Board.
Jim has worked on numerous mergers and acquisitions, including business case, due diligence and synergies assessment. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Medical Technology from SUNY, a Masters of Business Administration in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and maintains flight instructor and commercial pilot certificates.
